When you did that, did you remove the /etc/zmd/deviceid and /etc/zmd/secret file before ? If the failure is at the Novell Customer Center it will register there as the old system and get the same update sources as before if you did not do that.
If you remove the currently existing sources, shutdown the rug client (rczmd stop), delete those two files, start it again (they will be recreated with a different content) and register it against the NCC, the system will have a new identity and hopefully get the correct service lists.
