Adding user source breaks login

Zen 10.2.1 on SLES 10 SP2. After adding the user source (LDAP e-directory), when trying to login (novell client 4.91 SP5) the Zenworks Configuration Management login box comes up. Any username/pass I put in gives an error:

"Unable to log into the ZENworks realm because the system has disconnected from the network and the specified credentials did not match the credentials cached on the system."

If I remove the user source, logins work again. Any ideas?
