Default Inventory and usage of application virtualization

All,

Application Virtualization has brought a new twist to managing usage and applications. Novell ZAV (Novell ZENworks Application Virtualization), Microsoft AppV, Citrix ThinApp, etc have all brought Virtualization to Desktop Applications which is great, but how does this get tracked?

With Novell ZAV, that is repackaging the exe that runs the program. With AppV and ThinApp, those are streamed, or can be, from a server. How are these detected and can the ZAM/ZCM agent detect these?

Any realword info is appreciated, or inside knowledge on this.

Thanks,
Dan V.
