Default Re: Image old chassis to new chassis

I would do the following:
1) Take image of machine for backup purposes.
2) Get copy of sata drivers for new machine
3) Create a minimal sysprep.inf
4) Run sysprep with the bmsd switch to create the SysprepMassStorage section of your sysprep.inf
5) Add the sata driver entries to sysprep.inf (multiple web sites can instruct on how to do this)
6) Make sure you have the ExtendOEMPartition set to 1 in sysprep.inf
7) On the old computer, in Device manager, change the driver under Computer to "Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI)"
8) If new computer is multiprocessor or supports hyperthreading, add the UpdateHAL=ACPIAPIC_MP,%WINDIR%\Inf\Hal.inf to the Unattended section of sysprep.inf
9) Run sysprep reseal, image up, image to new machine
10) You'll need to deal with the new machine's drivers after it's installed
