Default Inventory not following schedule

We have a nagging problem in our labs. All of our labs have DeepFreeze installed (Vista Sp1 + AA 10.0.3.2), and our Inventory Schedule is set up for all days of the week between the hours of 5 - 11 pm, and told not to process immediately if schedule is missed. However, when a lab full of computers is booted up (no matter what time it is), every machine runs an inventory scan immediately (see attachment). The problem is that disk access for this process makes the system useless for 1.5 to 2 minutes at the beginning of class. Does anyone have this issue, and if so is there a workaround? We are going to shut off inventory scheduling altogether until we can devise a workaround. Thank you. I can send you screenshots of this phenomenon if needed.
