Default Re: Unknown error while updateing zen server from 10.2 to 10

Well it looks like we were able to find out what the issue was and we have been able to successfully patch the ZCM primary server.

It turns out our primary server was using a closest server rule and was actually pointing to a satellite server for collection (and possibly content) roles.

This in turn was causing the primary server to experience the issues seen in Novell TID# 7004271: Error: "Bundle Knowledge Base Files [3.6.A.6.16] is still being packaged on the server. (i eventually spotted an entry refrencing this in the zmd-messages.log). Basically from what I can gather the server didn't want to do the update because it thought it was still in the middle of something.

After i saw the above TID i realised that it seemed odd that the primary server was using a satellite server for those roles so i double checked the closest server rule and sure enough the primary was pointing to a satellite server sitting in the same subnet as it (the satellite server is supposed to service other servers in the same VLAN hence the reason for the rule).

After overriding the closest server rule and telling the primary to point to itself for those things, i refreshed the agent on the server a couple of times, reassigned the update and lo and behold the update went through!

Now onto why ZENloader is now consuming 50% CPU constantly since the update was applied...
