Default Re: LDAP Load balancing

Yes, we were able to get this to work with an eDirectory user source. We're using SLES 10. Make sure the user source name in alt-servers.properties matches the user source name in the ZCC.

1. Edit the alt-servers.properties file to include your LDAP servers (be sure to un-comment out the lines):

USERSOURCE-NAME=\
ldapserver1.fqdn:636 \
ldapserver2.fqdn:636

2. Restart the ZENworks services on the server after editing alt-servers.properties. Also, if you have more than one primary server, make sure you have closest server rules configured so the workstations know which server to point to.

3. To test, try logging in on a workstation. At the same time, run a netstat on the primary server. You should see a connection(s) to the first LDAP server in the list (ldapserver1.fqdn:ldaps).

This works for us.
