Default Invemtory slow.

Hello,

I have been noticing that lately the PC's have been quite sluggish on
a new image that we have put on the PC's. I have done some tests to see
how things are running, here are some of the things that I have noticed /
done so far.

We are noticing a delay at login time, the 2 items that are loading at
this time are NAV and ZEN manager..

Norton is configured with - runs at every startup, with network
scanning option loaded and NAV updates weekly.

Zen manager updates NW every startup / login:

TESTING RESULTS:

Testing PC with inventory Zenagent and NAV running:

Dell Optiplex GX270 2.4 Ghz Windows XP SP 2 - 256 M of mem.

Time to boot to login screen : 1:05:00 - 1:15:00 minutes.

To boot so that you have a useable PC, it will take approximately up
to 5 plus minutes to get a working PC...

Testing with a PC with no inventory Zenagent running:

Same PC:

Time to boot to login screen : 1:05 - 1:15 minutes.

To boot so that you have a useable PC, it will take approximately up
to 3:15 mimutes to get a working PC...

We know that the PC needs more momory, but unfortunatley we will not
be receiving this anytime soon.. So, a few things that I would like ask:

:Does this sound like a reasonable time to login to a PC with /
without zen agent?
:If the times seem to be out of wack, do you have any suggestions to
remedy this problem?
:Can we set the inventory scan to run at shutdown instead of startup?

Any help would be appreicated.

TX - Toby
