Thanks for the advice. We don't have Vista here yet - some of our apps won't run on it. I'll give 7.0 a try first.

I would recommend ZCM if you have vista.
If Vista is not in the immediate plans, I would look at upgrading to ZDM7.
This is a minor upgrade and quite quite painless and fairly easy.
Going to ZCM is a little more work.
ZDM7 ships with a nice "Asset Inventory" program which is similar to what you find in ZCM.
It's a huge step up from the old ZEN Inventory stuff.

Thanks Craig!
I'm going to run that to clean up the DB. Yesterday after I posted my message I noticed in the \ScanDir there were 1910,000 str files in there! And another 191,000 files in the \ScanDir\DbDir! So for some reason the workstation scan str files were not being imported. I rebooted the server, stopped the Zen services, manually deleted all those files, manually started the services and now the imports are running via the "Zenworks Inventory Service". I don't know why that happened (never seen it before), but it's running now. I also don't know if that would be the reason for the eDir object/db export mismatch.
I need to get moving on the newest version of Zen anyway. I understand it's pretty good.

76.7.1 Understanding the NDS Lookup for DB Utility
NDS Lookup for DB automatically generates a list of inventoried workstations that are stored in the Inventory database but do not have a corresponding entry in eDirectory. By default, this lookup file is named deletewslist.txt.
The excess workstations in the Inventory database exist because these workstations have been deleted from eDirectory but their corresponding entries were not removed from the database.
The list generated by NDS Lookup for DB helps you in identifying the redundant workstation objects to be removed from the Inventory database by using the Inventory Removal Service.

Hi Everyone,
Netware 6.5 sp6
Zen 6.5 s2
I have a problem with my workstation object/records. The objects in eDirectory look correct, and I see the import/removal processes on my zen servers (one per WAN site) running. However when I run an export, I see very old workstations there along with the new workstations. So, assuming the export is directly from the Sybase database, what causes the disconnect, and how do I fix it? This is a problem, since I rely on the reports for budgeting and reporting, and it looks pretty bad when management see's PCs on the report that have long since retired.
Suggestions?
Tom
