Strange Preferred Connection Data

I've been checking out a couple machines that have had 3 minute logins
after authenticating the user with client 4.91 SP2 + ZDFAgent 6.5...

When I check out the registry key:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Novell\Workstation
Manager\Identification] it shows the preferred connection in
ASCII-type text. I'll see 3 boxes for instance. No IP address, like
I'd normally see, but ASCII-looking boxes instead.

I can change it to an IP, but as soon as I restart it goes back to the
strange boxes. Anyone experience this?
