Default Odd Zen 7 behaviour

Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone has experienced problems with Zen 7 resetting items in Windows Security Policies?

We've been trying to disable Simple File Sharing (ties in to Network Access: Sharing and security model for local accounts) but on every reboot, the setting is re-enabled.

After a lot of head scratching we used Process Monitor to track down what application is changing the registry key on reboot. Process Monitor fingerd LSASS.exe as the culprit and some searching seemed to suggest lsass has a relationship to Zenworks.

We uninstalled Zenworks on the problem machine, disabled Simple File Sharing and then reinstalled Zenworks; After doing this the setting held.

What is interesting is that Zenworks seems to affect other settings within secpol.msc. As an experiment, I changed Network Security: LAN Manager authentication level from Send LM & NTLM responses to Send LM & NTLM - use NTLMv2 session security if negotiated. After a reboot, the setting had changed back.

Can someone explain why Zenworks might be doing this. No Local Machine policies are in place..

Neil.
