Prompt Before Distribution - timeout?

I built an app object to distribute the updated ZDM agent, which of course involves a reboot. I have it set to Prompt Before Distribution so the user's don't have to reboot if they're in the middle of something important.

I have a user who swears that the prompt came up (presumably on a Refresh), and he walked out of the office without touching or clicking anything. When he came back, the machine had rebooted and was at a login prompt. I assume it went ahead with the update but I haven't checked yet.

My understanding is that Prompt Before Distribution waits for a Yes or No and doesn't assume some sort of time-out. Am I missing something?
