I am very pleased with posting here and appreciative of yours and others' comments. You have given me a good practical perspective based on what you know about ZfD and MS -- what more could we ask of each other here!?! Craig is right, though, that the point I'm at is not a ZfD matter but a Microsoft matter, so I'm focused out there for the time being. I'm aware of the dodo-factor, and I try to avoid being a dodo myself :) but I do like most what gives me the ability to make the most solid promises (which could be either snapshot or MSI). And thanks for the link! I'll be back.

Well ultimately it all boils down to what works for you. I just wanted
to make sure you were aware of some of the potential gotchas. The last
thing to mention is that snapshot has gone the way of the dodo as far as
Novell is concerned, but if I recall, Installshield admin studio can
also make a snapshot for you.

Not sure if anything in there will be of help to you or not but it's
worth looking at.
