Gateway M465, Intel 945PM chipset

Using boot cd, system hangs detecting pcmcia. I have been able to get
system to boot by using the nopcmcia=1 option. However, the nic is not
functional. Have tried using modprobe e1000 at bash prompt, but still do
not have an eth0.
