When imaging, printing takes eternity

On our Netware 6.5 server we have both zenworks and NDPS running in
addition to other things. When I'm taking a single image across the
network, printing comes to a crawl. The Novell print notifier on the
workstation says that the print job failed but it will eventually print.
Server memory while taking an image is over 1 and a half gigs free. Is
this a network bandwidth issue or is there something else going on here?
moving to a gigabit backbone is on the budget list for next year.
(finally!) I'm hoping that would resolve any and all issues. The final
image size is usually right around 4 gigs and takes anywhere from 30 to 40
minutes to complete. any insight for me here?
