can't put image into VMWare machine on VMWare Server 1.0

Using VMWare Workstation 4.5 (on WinXP SP2 Host), ZFD 6.5.1, 6.5.2, and
7.0.1, image our standard XP build to a VM just fine.

Using VMWare server 1.0 (on Win2003 R2), the imaging client starts the
process with the first file $LOGFILE and proceeds to stay there forever.
It's not locked up as the timer keeps incrementing.

Going back to a bash prompt in the imaging client (inside the VM I'm trying
to create), networking seems A-OK as ping times are very low.


Any clues?
