Default ZENworks Imaging and User Authentication

I'm looking into options for securing manual imaging work/imaging
scripts with user-based authentication to eDirectory? I've been looking
at ncpfs...

For a bit of background, i'm currently transitioning from Ghost to
ZENworks for imaging. I manage the large-scale imaging operations via
multicast sessions but the majority of one-off imaging operations are
performed by first-level support staff using custom dos-based boot discs
w/ an integrated Novell Client (images and imaging scripts are kept
server side and access to those resources is controlled via group
membership). Rolling out PXE or policy-based imaging via ZENworks to
support staff raises concerns re: overhead in their processes and the
impact of support staff modifying workstation objects to "put" images, etc.

Thanks.
