Imaging slowdown, folders with thousands of files

I have noticed that ZEN imaging tends to slow to a crawl, when it comes
across folders with thousands of files. A good example is Temporary
Internet Files. Is this some sort of limitation of ZEN imaging? I have
been noticing this problem for serveral releases/versions of ZEN. I have
also tried all the post-ZDM7SP1 hotpatch releases, with no alleviation of
this problem.
