Image creation problem

I have had problems creating an image from a Dell optiplex320, where i
wasnt getting a bash prompt.

I have since installed Hot patch 3 and I am now getting to a bash prompt.

The problem i now have is that it is only creating an image of 4 kb in
size.

Any ideas ehat is casung this problem?
