Default ACPI=Off causes laptop to lock up

I just updated my imaging drivers to the June 2009 release so I can image a new Acer Aspire One laptop. This worked fine but then I tried to image a Dell Latitude D820 and it locked up as soon as Linux started detecting the hardware.

I've narrowed the problem down to the acpi=off command in z_maint.cmd, we started using this so the laptop displays come back on when you close and open the lid.

So the problem exists between the D820 and this new update, I also have Latitude D830s and E5500s but they work fine with the update and acpi=off in z_maint.cmd.

I'm not if they're supported but I also tried acpi=ht and acpi=noirq but no luck.

Any ideas?
