Re: Probable BUG found in Sybase Inventory database

Yeah, already we are up to 2TB on SPD's (spinning platter drives) and that
will increase with the use of patterned media. Yet Novell seems to think
that there is no use case for NSS supporting partitions larger than 2TB nor
for NSS pools larger than 8TB. Every other modern filesystem goes way beyond
these silly limits. And before you suggest it - yes I have submitted an
enhancement request.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could submit bugs without having to go
through the whole SR/Creditcard-Please/Yes-it-is-a-bug/Here-is-a-refund
rigamamole. Perhaps I should submit an enhancement request - or whatever it
is now called.

Oh so true. 4 years old, but still the most modern available for ZDM7 on
NetWare. But NetWare is 'old' too and soon will be put out to pasture by
Novell - spring 2010 if I remember correctly. Sad to me since it works so
very well as a file, print, LDAP/directory, dhcp, slp, desktop-management,
etc server. Even more sad since the current Linux based services in these
areas are not quite as complete nor robust according to what I see in the
forums, the Novell Knowledgebase and the Novell documentation.
But I see the beta of OES2 sp2 is now public - too bad there is nothing for
SLES 11. I hope that SLES 11 will be supported before the EOL for NetWare -
and that OES3 or whatever it may be called resolves all the current issues
with OES2.

Yeah, I like my workarounds as they involve a lot less work than changing OS
platforms :-). I'll look at the ZEN picture again in the spring/summer of
2010. Maybe ZCM will be as good as ZDM by then? Although losing tight
integration with eDir is another sad thing.
Sorry for spewing. And thanks for all your contributions to the NetWare/ZDM
community.
Cheers,
