Re: Naming Server problem - no inventory updates
Seems sp3 my problem (or NW 5.1 patch) as somehow
JVM updated from 1.17b to 1.3.x (also works with JVM 1.2.2)
Found TID 2962013 Inventory Patch
many new .ncf files for ZfD3.2.x
Decided to "re-install inventory" per TID 10059948
First step was to fun below utility to get needed info.
ZfD3site.exe for getting site details.
ran it, failed,
java -exit then re-startusing ZfDstart.ncf
ran again, failed again
then after a re-boot , I think
I tried once more and information came onto screen.
As I started to review how to re-install Inventory, I noticed STR files were
being updated.
Some smaller problems to work thru, but no new questions yet, still
experimenting...
So somehow it auto-magically got fixed - happy camper.
(also double check TID 10062746 may help with workstation update problems)

ZENworks 3.2 sp3 inventory (Sybase) and NW 5.1 sp8
Unable to get Naming Server Instance, check if naming server is running.
ERROR: IPPSRVR
java: Class
com.novell.zenworks.desktop.inventory.servercommon .ZENWorksInventoryServiceM
anager
exited with Status - 1
So now my STR files just stack up and don't get into the inventory
database.
