Default Dell Optiplex 755

We are using Zenworks 4.01 ir7 and I have a Zen 4.01 ir7 bootcd made up which uses the linux kernel 2.4.31.

I already compiled (used Slackware 10.2 as it uses the linux kernel 2.4.31 to match the Zen 4.01 ir7 bootcd kernel 2.4.31)the network driver for the Dell Optiplex 755 and put it into the bootcd under the NET folder and also modified the DRIVER.CONF correctly. The Dell Optiplex 755 uses the Intel 82566 network card and I downloaded the linux driver from Intel's website which supports linux kernel 2.4.18 and above and compiled it as mentioned above.

The network card gets recognized from our Zen 4.01 ir7 bootcd but we are having other issues.

We used this same Zen 4.01 ir7 bootcd on the Dell Optiplex 745 model which uses SATA drives and we had to change the SATA Operation to Combination (legacy mode) in order for everything to work, but once we did that our Zen 4.01 ir7 bootcd worked great!

The Dell Optiplex 755 uses SATA drives as well, but it uses SATA drives with AHCI. Now with the Dell Optiplex 755 there is an option in the BIOS to go from RAID/AHCI to RAID/ATA or legacy so we swtiched to legacy mode. The Dell Optiplex 755 differs from the Dell Optiplex 745 model with the SATA Opertions.

The issue we are having with the Dell Optiplex 755 is we install and configure a zen partition and then we bring an image down onto the computer (network card works fine) and lastly run lilo.s as it is the boot loader. When we restart the computer and take out the Zen 4.01 ir7 bootcd we are now using the local Zen Partition and no longer the bootcd. It gives us error messages about not being able to mount floppy, cd-rom etc...

What could be causing the problem with our Zen Partition on the Dell Optiplex 755 where it's not mounting the devices (we did modify the BIOS as mentioned earlier to legacy), we had no issues with the Dell Optiplex 745 mode once SATA Operations were modified in the BIOS?

Thanks!
