Dell Optiplex 755 model and Zen Partition install problem
We are using Netware 6.5 SP7 and Zenworks 4.01 ir7. We do not have the time to upgrade to a newer Zenworks.
For the Dell Optiplex 755 we put the SATA Operation to legacy mode in the BIOS.
When I go to install a Zen Partition from the zen bootcd 4.01 ie7 (Linux kernel 2.4.31) at first everything appears correct. The cd-rom gets mounted, files get copied etc...
However, when it goes to install the zen partition this is what happens:
Creating 500 MB ZEN partition...
Creating filesystem
Copying files
/bin/cp: /mnt/floppy/kernel/.zen: No such file or directory
umount: /mnt/floppy: not mounted
Installing LILO
Warning: LBA32 addressing assumed
Fatal: open /boot/kernel.zen: No such file or directory
Active partition did not exist at boot time?
Retrying boot code installation
/mnt/harddisk/etc/lilo2.conf: No such file or directory
Please remove floppy/CD from the drive and press any key to continue
This doesn't make sense as the Dell Optiplex 745 model last year worked perfect when putting the SATA Operation to Combination. As mentioned above the Dell Optiplex 755 model was put to legacy in the BIOS and the zen bootcd 4.01 ir7 appeared to work at first until you try and install the zen partition and you get the above errors.
The 500mb worked great on the Dell Optiplex 745 last year so I don't think that's the problem.
Also, when you run manual from zen bootcd 4.01 ir7 everything works, network card gets detected and I'm able to put an image onto the Dell Optiplex 755 model. The only thing that doesn't appear to be working is the installation of the zen partition.
Does anyone have suggestions or information on how to fix the above errors when I'm installing a zen partition from the zen bootcd 4.01 ir7???
Thanks!
