Lose contact with server when PXE imaging has loaded

I have been required to integrate 3 Fujitsu-Siemens w/stations into our
network and have been trying to image them with an existing .zmg file and
to later modify the incompatibilities. The box has a F-S motherboard with
on-board NIC - ADMtek AM983B, says the chip.

The PXE boot works, loading the linux loader but fails when the real work
is supposed to start. I then attempted to manually image it from the bash
prompt. No dice. Pinging the server only showed a 'Network unreachable'
message.

Stuck in a Netgear NIC but no change.

Is this a hardware problem, a Linux problem or what?
