Patch management Question

I have not really even used patch management but I am trying to help out a colleague.

I still don't believe all my computers are getting the critical windows updates. Do I have to push them out to all computer manually? It seems there would be a way to set them to go out to all computers without me having to manage it in the server. I just want critical updates to go out not the recommended. Thoughts?
