Default FQDN in UNC path name?

When distributing an MSI the Package Source List name is converted to a UNC
containing the fqdn of the subscriber server

i.e. \\server1\vol\golden\app from the golden app object becomes
\\server2.domain.name\vol\zdm\app

Is there a way to force zsm to use the actual server name in this translation?

I know that zsm likes to use (i.e. requires!) perfect dns for the
distributor and subscribers to function, but why force dns resolution as
the only client based name resolution technique? Novell clients can use
NDS, Host File, DNS or SLP for name to address translation. If you limit
it to DNS, using fqdn only, then you become totally reliant on dns.
It would be much better if we could just specify the stub server name, so
that any of the techniques can be used - dns could still be used in this
scenario provided the DNS suffix(s) are correctly set on the client

Anyone know how to do this? Can you change someting in the
zfs-startup.xml, or the Network address properties of the edir subscriber
objects?
If not, I can feel an enhancement request coming on!

Regards and thanks

David
