Group to Copy files

I read through the application distribution, but I'm not sure that what I mean. Let me try to explain better. Ex. Say we have 2 servers at our main office and 1 at our DR site. On the 2 servers at the main office we have have user a & b personal directory on one server and user c & d personal directory on the other. Only certain people have access to our DR site so we have created a group with user a & c in the DR container. When user a & c logon at the DR site to the DR server, their mappings in the DR container point them to their personal directory which has been mirrored from the 2 servers in the main office.

This is how it was explained to me in the past and it was working. However, the person who set this up has since gone and now it is not working. I was under the impression this was done the ZFS, however, I'm not sure and new to Zen, but I would like to try to get this back working even if I have to start from scratch.
