Copy compressed file with ARCServe decompresses file

    NetWare 5.1 SP8 server.
ARCServe IT 6.6 WorkGroup Edition SP4

Recently when attempting to perform some disk/volume maintenance I was using ARCServe to move the contents of volumes from one disk to another. Like to use ARCServe because it preserves all the directory/file settings and trustee assignments.
When attempting to move one particular volume to a newly created temporary volume, the copy job stopped because the newly created temporary volume ran out of space.
I checked the original volume to make sure that I had created the new one with the right size and I had. But, I noticed that the original volume had some compressed files while the newly created temporary volume didn't have any compressed files.
Started trouble shooting and by using NDIR /D found a small file that was compressed. Ran an ARCServe Copy job to copy the file to another volume. Checked the copied file with NDIR /D and found that it was not compressed. Deleted the copied file and copied the file using NCOPY /R. Checked the copied file with NDIR /D and found that it was compressed.
Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong with the ARCServe Copy job?
