ZCM Bundle Status Parser (APPLState Parser)

Rate this Entry
The %ZENWORKS_HOME%\Cache\ZMC folder contains a file named {GUID}.APPLSTATE file for each bundle that tracks the details about a bundle's status including details of when the bundle was installed, distributed, launched and by whom. However, reading through all of the files to try and figure out what ran when and by whom can be a painstakingly long process.

APPLSTATEParser.exe will read all the APPLSTATE files in a target directory and collate all of the results into a CSV file to easily see the state of all files on a device.
A "Start" and "End" data can be specified so that only bundles where either an Install, Launch, or Distribute occurred within the range will be included.

This is most useful if one needs to know which bundles may still be in use or if a bundle may be responsible for recent issues on a device.

Simply ->
Use the GUI to restrict the time periods collected.
Browse to any folder containing APPLSTATE files and select any one random file.
All Files in that folder will now be collated into a file called "results.csv" in the save directory as the executable.

Note: ZCM 11.2.x and prior used APPSTATE files which are formatted slightly differently, hence there are two versions of the utility.
