Forum upgrade, new functionality

Rate this Entry
Time marches on. Today I upgraded the forum software which, besides fixing some bugs, added a new WYSIWYG editor. There is no longer a basic and advanced editor....just an editor. It added new functionality like directly pasting Word documents, the ability to do tables, etc. It's really a great improvement to the old editor. I've learned though that most people don't pay attention unless they can't do what they are trying to do. People that visit the forums, for the most part, are trying to solve problems. They don't really care about the forum interface as long as they can do what they want. I guess the best indicator that the new interface is doing the job is if I don't get complaints. That's the way life is these days....if no complaints come in, then I consider things a success. To actually have someone take the time to say..."hey, that's good" or to take the time to give thanks to someone that helps them is getting more rare from what I can tell. To all the people out here in the Novell Forums that take the time to help someone else, THANK YOU from me.
