Hi,

this is my second try...

we're trying to install exchange gateway 7 on a windows 2000 SP3
server,
running exchange 2000. Installation completes without any error.
Configuration is done as described in documentation on both sides of
the system.

We installed in application mode. Once we try to start the gateway
we're getting two errors:

Could not open registry parent key to get Display Name information.
Using defaults..

ERROR (E01) 010012: Unable to get configuration information from the
MAPI Session

and the gateway app quits and restarts over and over.

The user, we used for install has all administrative rights to root of
NDS Tree, Active Directory and Exchange System, but is not called
sysadmin.

We checked rights to registry, rights to all Exchange objects, rights
to AD. Everything looks correct, but no change in situation.

Here is on part of the log:

In the app eventlog we can see that the user object was unable to
connect as the gateway object (Event 1021), but the AD path to the
gateway object is wrong. We cannot find a way to manipulate this path,
since it is not specified thru config, but rather built together by the
gateway itself.

This is our second try. The first try with win2003R2 & Exchange 2003
ended up with exactly the same errors.

The AD path that is specified in the Eventlog Error is:

HUN/gwexec was unable to connect as /o=First Organization/ou=First
Administrative Group/cn=Configuration/cn=Connections/cn=GroupWise
Connector. Error 0x80040111

But the path should be:

/o=First Organization/ou=First Administrative Group/cn=Routing
Groups/cn=First Routing Group/cn=Connections/cn=GroupWise Connector

Any idea how to change this?

Thanks
