    Treo 650 100 message limit

    Hi,

We have both Treo's and Blackberry's that seem to have the same problem, if
the user has over 100 messages in their inbox then they can't successfully
pop3 the messages to their device. If they open a POP3 client such as
outlook express and pop all their email, then the device starts to receive
correctly for new email, any ideas?????

Novell 6.0 sp latest, GW 6.5 sp latest, just don't know the versions numbers

This is setting you can change in Console One. Check the POP3 Tab under
Access Controls on the GWIA object.

    Hi,

Thanks for the response, I'm aware of this setting, but if I change it to
say 200, then the same problem exists at 200 messages, what I am looking for
is why the Treo locks up at this message limit. If I use Outlook Express, it
will POP3 (download) in blocks of 100. Any ideas??

No idea why your 650 is locking up at 100 messages, but I would ask why
you're using POP in the first place? The Treo ships with an IMAP client ;-)

I'm assuming you mean VersaMail in this regard? Or are you using some other
product? If using VersaMail, have you thought about IMAP instead of POP?
It's a better option in my opinion. In any event, you could also try
something like Snappermail on the Treo to see if it's a versamail
limitation. Since I never POP (only IMAP) I've never had problems with my
    Treo 650 delivery.

    Hi,

Thanks for the response, I considered IMAP, but for our users it is
different, which translate to difficult, I am using VersaMail 3.0 so will
    try Snapper, etc.

    thanks again,
    Wayne

ChatterEmail is also a superior POP3 client compared to VersaMail.

Re: Treo 650 100 message limit

My guess is that you have an option set to 'leave a copy of the messages on
the server'. This causes GWIA to present the same 100 messages over and
over again. Get the latest GWIA version (SP5) and see if that fixes it, as
we made some changes in the GWIA code recently.

    Thanks
    Alex

Snappermail has problems deleting more than 2 email off the server per sync, but Novell fixed this problem in GWIA7 so that is great because Snappermail works well other than that problem
