We have two seemingly identical servers, one of which remote manager functions correctly, the other only allows me to see the file systems with reduced rights.

When logged into the functioning server, then in the top left of the browser we see

Identity: (myname.mycontext.myorg), User: (root).

When logged into the non-functioning server, then in the tope left of the browser we see

Identity: (myname.mycontext.myorg), User: (myname).

I have checked the nam.conf, made sure that lum is installed on both servers and the deamons are running. Checked that my user is LUM enabled, checked that the groups are LUM enabled, checked the /etc/opt/novell/httpstkd.conf files to make sure that they are identical, checked the /etc/pam.d/httpstkd files to make sure that these are identical and checked the /etc/nsswitch.conf files.

Stopped and restarted the relevant deamons, all to no avail.

The only way to login which seems to allow full access to the server through remote manager is via root !!!

Any suggestions on where to progress from here would be welcome.
