Hey,

At the school I work at we are running Netware 6 SP5 and Zenworks 4.01 ir6.

We have a student management database called maplewood. This program is
used for report cards, attendance, student and staff records etc...

For the last week and a half maplewood has been running a little slow,
when a teacher or admin staff do a search on a student. Maplewood is run
from the network.

I decided to check the health of the server by going into remote manager
http:\\xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8008 and I noticed that the Available Server
Processes and Allocated Server Processes were in the red and were reading
500 for current and peak. I went in and increased the minimum server
processes to 500 and the maximum server processes to 1000. This put the
Available Server Processes and Allocated Server Processes back into the
green in remote manager under health monitor.

However both Available Server Processes and Allocated Server Processes
wwere still reading 500 for current and peak.

Maplewood was still running sluggish.

Today I decided to reboot the server and then went back into remote
manager and then health monitor and Available Server Processes and
Allocated Server Processes were now reading 25 for current and peak. I
then tried Maplewood out and it worked fine.

Can the current and peak of the Available Server Processes and Allocated
Server Processes affect an application such as maplewood running from the
network?

Also, how can I fix the problem so that the Available Server Processes and
Allocated Server Processes don't increase to 500 current and peak?

Thanks!

Brad
