We have two brand new Dell servers, both with dual Intel
Pro/1000(CE1000.lan) NICs. One NIC is dedicated to Network traffic, the
other (on a different subnet) is used only for communication with our
iSCSI SAN. Both Servers are running NetWare 6.5 sp4 and eDir 8.7.3.7.

Since we've added the dell servers we have been having sporadic issues
with pools being deactivated. This is the error message:

3-02-2006 3:06:39 pm: COMN-3.23-1092
Severity = 4 Locus = 3 Class = 0
NSS-3.00-5001: Pool ZEUS/APPSVOL is being deactivated.
An I/O error (20204(zio.c[2165])) at block 29501911(file block
98971)(ZID 3) has compromised pool integrity.

I've found a few TIDs that seem appropriate:

http://tinyurl.com/jdyzt
http://tinyurl.com/jtf6b

I've pretty much ruled out the first as it is happening on different
servers and different LUNs on the SAN. Also, when we remount the volume
we have no other signs of data corruption and it only has happened on
the new Dell servers with pro/1000 Nics.

The second seems much more applicable to our situation however we are
not using any of the advanced parameters listed in the TID. We are only
loading with Name, Frame, and Slot values.

Should we add the RXDESCRIPTORS=64 TXCHECKSUM=0 RXCHECKSUM=0 POLL=0
parameters or do you know of a set of recommended parameters for use
with this card? Should we only change the settings for the NIC that is
used for iSCSI? Any other thoughts or Suggestions?

Thanks!
