Hi! I have a Netware 6.5 server which is "pausing" every few seconds.
Rebooting appears to fix the problem temporarily, but it seems to
return several days or several weeks later. I have applied the latest
service pack and updated server.exe just recently, but the issue has
returned. I have run hardware diagnostics on the drives in this Dell
PE2650 with nothing to report. This is our primary server for user
file storage and also runs ZenWorks, Symantec AV, and remote agents for
Backup Exec, but unloading all related modules doesn't seem to affect
the problem. Users experience slowness browsing mapped drives, I can
see the pause when I ping the server (see below), but the issue also
happens when working on the console. Here's what it looks like when I
do an extended ping, which gives you an idea of the frequency of the
pauses (and because it's the only proof I have to show of the issue):
