We have three NW 6.5 SP 5 servers that our backup software is having
problems with. We are using Arcserve 11.1 SP3. The servers appear to
hang on the CDROM$$.ROM file. After an extended period of time, the
backups will disconnect and go onto the next server in the list. When
this happens, the server with the problems still thinks the backups are
running. The only way to fix this problem is to reboot the server. I
have been told that this problem is caused by the CDROM drive being
mounted as a volume. When I do display volumes, I do not see anything
for the CDROM drive. Also we do not have any media in the drive.
