I have been playing with EVMS/NSS on OES Linux. I have followed the EVMS
instructions here:

I have my partitions setup exactly as described in this document on a
single disk. Immediately after install I can create NSS pools and volumes
in iManager.

If I then either reboot or reconfigure any novell services via Yast, the
owner/group settings of several services related to iManager are changed as

v20z-3:/ # ls -l /var/opt/novell/
total 0
drwxr-xr-x 14 root root 352 Jul 8 13:18 .
drwxr-xr-x 4 root root 96 Jul 8 12:56 ..
drwxr-xr-x 6 105 www 176 Jul 8 13:02 eGuide
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 72 Jul 8 13:02 iManager
drwxrwxr-x 6 root iprint 144 Jul 8 13:01 iprint
drwxr-xr-x 5 root root 216 Jul 8 15:42 log
drwxrwxr-x 3 wwwrun www 72 Jul 8 13:02 netstorage
drwxr-xr-x 2 105 www 48 Jan 30 12:07 novlwww
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 192 Jul 8 16:01 nss
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 80 Jul 8 15:34 run
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 112 Jul 8 15:34 sms
drwxrwxr-x 10 105 www 264 Jul 8 13:02 tomcat4
drwxr-xr-x 3 105 www 72 Jul 8 13:02 virtualoffice
drwxrwx--- 4 100 101 96 Jul 8 13:01 xtier

Note the '105' user, which on a healthy system should be 'novlwww' and
similar for the 100/101 entries. These error prevents tomcat from starting
as below:

I have manually fixed these recursively comparing to a health system and
then iManager and other related services will fire back up no problems.

I have tried the EVMS patched OES 1 CD also and the problem is the same.

The problem is reproducable with every install I do and the only common
thread is EVMS. Anyone have any idea what is going on?
