Are there any settings on the client or the server that will force the
server to give the client a Microsoft version of the short filename?
If there are multiple dots in a filename, Novell goes to the first dot for
the filename (truncating to 6 chars + '~1') and what is between the first
and second dots becomes the extension. Microsoft truncates to the last
dot and the original extension is kept. This is causing issues with 2 of
my programs and there are 2 TIDs I've come across that claim the
truncation is the same but none of them take into account multiple dots.
