I rebooted this server due to what I thought was apache weirdness. On
the restart, namcd didn't start and of course nothing else starts as a
result. After troubleshooting, I ended up axing the LUM config and
recreating it. Well, that didn't help...

It seems that namcd logs to /var.log/messages, here is the output:

Nov 2 11:03:55 dmz-srv2 /usr/sbin/namcd[6629]: Starting namcd..
Nov 2 11:03:55 dmz-srv2 /usr/sbin/namcd[6629]: namcd populating the
user hash tables
Nov 2 11:03:55 dmz-srv2 /usr/sbin/namcd[6629]: User profile file cannot
be opened/does not exist
Nov 2 11:03:55 dmz-srv2 /usr/sbin/namcd[6629]: Failed to populate user
hash tables from file, namcd populating the hash tables from eDir

Here is the service status:

dmz-srv2:/etc/init.d # ./namcd status
Checking for LUM NAMCD daemon NAMCD is not running

Not running even though it looks like it was starting.

I've recreated all the eDir objects to no avail. LUM continues to work
fine on the another server in this tree, so my eDir config has to be at
least partially correct.. :D

This is OES with patches, not SP1. That is downloading as we speak. I
figure that I'll try it and if that doesn't help... I'd start a case on
this, but I simply don't want to spend the $$$. It would be more cost
efficient for me to simply rebuild the box. But before I do that, if
anyone has $0.02, I'd be open to hear it.
