I am new to OES Linux and Linux in general. After Brainshare I was quite
excited to bring linux in house. However, my security group does not want
to allow any x-windows (gnome, kde) on these servers. In fact its so
stripped down its almost not useable for me. Is this what needs to be done
to make linux secure? If so I don't see how I can recommend keeping file
and print services on Netware services and will be forced to move to
Windows. We don't and won't be able to get the linux skills necessary to
administrate linux in such a stripped down fashion. Does someone have some
solid information I can give my security group to allow x-windows on my
servers.. preferably gnome? Does anyone have solid lock down procedures for
linux that make it still useable? Any of this information would be great.
