We have set up a proxy server for our OES Linux servers to use for Rug
patching and ClamAV updates. With both services and entry needs to be
made in their respective configuration files telling the services to use
the proxy server, and giving it the IP address and port number of the
proxy server.

Is there some way to more generically configure the OES Linux server to
use the proxy server whenever necessary? What we want to do is access
external NTP time servers, and I don't see where I can configure ntp.conf
to use a proxy server (if there is a way, please do let me know). If
there is some way of telling the server to just use x.x.x.x as a proxy
server, as required, it would be helpful.

Thank you.
