I am trying to install OES ( obvious realy as we are in the forum for
that!)

I am with in minutes of throwing a 55KG Dell Server out of the window and
going home.

I initialy had problems from dodgy downloads ( checksum did not match )
which gave a "Cannot Read Package data from installation media. Media
Error?" at the Install settings page.

I burned a fresh checksumed set and that error went away :)

It started install and made it through CD1. It then asked for CD2. Which I
put in the drive. It then continued to ask for CD2.

I tried again using CD4 ( SLES2 ) with no better result.

Eventualy I tried INGNORE and it went on but was then trying to find
packages and could not find them to install....

So I decided that there must be a problem with the CDROM drive and SUSE..

I copied the ISOS to our SLES8 server, checksumed them, netinstall.sh
them, made the NFS mount point and tried again.

I was back to "Cannot Read Package data from installation media. Media
Error?" :( :(

I setup pureftpd to serve them... and tried again..

I was back to "Cannot Read Package data from installation media. Media
Error?" :( :( :( :(

I set up a desktop machine. it's the same :(

CD based can't find second CD.
Network Can't find any packages.

Any IDEAS!

I am going to try installing SLES9 then OES on that.

Thanks

Robin
