Ok, this is officially *ridiculous*.

I've read some of the horror stories about trying to install
OES Linux and it looks like I've fallen into one before I'm
barely begun.

I have downloaded and burned the following ISOs.

oessp2linux01.iso 637.9 MB
oessp2linux02.iso 525.1 MB
oessp2linux03.iso 401.8 MB
oessp2linux04.iso 341.3 MB
oessp2linux05.iso 629.1 MB
oessp2linux06.iso 611.3 MB
oessp2linux07.iso 580.8 MB
oessp2linux08.iso 545.6 MB
oessp2linux09.iso 649.5 MB
oessp2linux10.iso 648.2 MB

The Novell Portal site download page
lists this:

Complete installation set for OES Linux:

* oessp2linux01.iso
* oessp2linux02.iso
* oessp2linux03.iso
* oessp2linux04.iso
* oessp2linux06.iso
* oessp2linux07.iso
* oessp2linux08.iso

Optional ISO Images (containing source code):
oessp2linux05.iso, oessp2linux09.iso, oessp2linux10.iso

Eh?

From the 'Installation Instructions' Link on the download page.

Most administrators don't need or want to download all the OES files. For
help deciding what to download, see the table below.

CD Image Set
Description

Installation set for OES Linux
oessp2linux01.iso
oessp2linux02.iso
oessp2linux03.iso
oessp2linux04.iso
oessp2linux06.iso
oessp2linux07.iso
oessp2linux08.iso

To patch an OES Linux server to Support Pack 2,
or to install OES on SUSE LINUX Enterprise Server 9
oessp2linux01.iso
oessp2linux02.iso
oessp2linux03.iso
oessp2linux04.iso

(Optional) Contain source code
oessp2linux04.iso
oessp2linux07.iso
oessp2linux08.iso

This appears to contradict the list above from the download page
which states that :-
'oessp2linux05.iso, oessp2linux09.iso, oessp2linux10.iso'
Contain the optional source code.

The first 3 go through fine.

It then asks for 'SUSE CORE VERSION 9 CD1'

Problem is that it appears to be NONE of the above.
It spits out all the disks I've tried.

I've no idea what it is or where it is.

I've tried 04 and 05 and neither seem to be what it's looking for.
Not sure where it's looking for the label even.

This is SUPPOSED to be the COMPLETE INSTALL for OEM SP2 if
you are building a new server.

Can someone please explain what the heck is going on to me please?
