I am using OES-Linux SP1 on 4 servers and am trying to change the NIC speed
and duplex setting on two of the servers. However, issuing the mii-tool -F
command does not seem to work. The servers accept the command, but do not
reflect the change. I have not verified the switch port settings as yet,
but that should not matter when forcing a setting. Below is a sample of
what I see:

Server #1:
#mii-tool (show current setting)
eth0: negotiated 100baseTx-FD flow-control, link ok
eth1: no link
#mii-tool -F 10baseT-FD (change to 10 Mbps, Full duplex)
#mii-tool (check settings)
eth0: negotiated 100baseTx-FD flow-control, link ok
eth1: no link

Server #2:
#mii-tool (show current setting)
eth0: no autonegotiation, 100baseTx-HD, link ok
eth1: no link
#mii-tool -F 100baseTx-FD (change to 10 Mbps, Full duplex)
#mii-tool (check settings)
eth0: no autonegotiation, 100baseTx-HD, link ok
eth1: no link

I also started looking into using ethtool as well to set the speed and
duplex mode. Is anyone else having similar type problems?

Thanks in advance.
