I need to setup a vlan. I have it working using vconfig but when I reboot
the server I lose the configuration. Does anyone have a script that will
work. I saw a few posting on google mentioning putting it in init.d but
they also mentioned a interfaces file but OES doesn't have it.

This is what I found.

Making it permanent

Create a file in /etc/init.d with the commands you need:

cat > /etc/init.d/vlan
modprobe 8021q
vconfig add eth0 1
ifconfig eth0.10 netmask
^D (that is Ctrl+D)

Make the file executable by running:

chmod +x /etc/init.d/vlan

Now, to make that run after eth0 is up add the line "up /etc/init.d/vlan"
in /etc/network/interfaces like this:

iface eth0 inet static
up /etc/init.d/vlan
pre-up ifconfig eth0 hw ether xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx

Any idea would be great.
