Hello everyone,

I have installed an OES SP1 system. I installed only the default OES
software package, which does not include CUPS.

I know that Novell's iprint uses the same port (ipp) as CUPS and so I'm
guessing that's why it doesn't install. I am looking at iPrint as a
CUPS replacement.

OK, if that's the case, then where are the replacement command line
utilities that work with iPrint. For example, whenever I run lpadmin or
lpstat I get errors. For instance, I can't set the Linux default
printer with the lpadmin -d <printer name> command. Instead, I get

lpadmin: set-default failed: client-error-not-found

If I do an lpstat -t command, I get

scheduler is running
no system default destination
members of class iOptraT612:
device for iOptraT612: ipp://
iOptraT612 accepting requests since Jan 01 00:00
printer iOptraT612 is idle. enabled since Jan 01 00:00
lpstat: get-jobs failed: client-error-not-found

It partially works.

Thanks goodness the lp command itself works (though it still complains).

My guess is that Novell must have equivalents for these commands. After
all, we aren't running Linux just to run Novell stuff. Sometimes, we'd
like to run native Linux apps too right? Isn't that the point!?

Please help.
