    iPrint manager crash

    Hi,
I'm having problems with iPrint Manager (novell-ipsmd), it dies 5-10
    minutes after restart.
    ndpsmmon.log tells this every minute:
    08/27/07 21:27:27, Operation Set:,
Error: 506D000C - object not found,
    User Name: 255.0.0.1,
    Address: 255.0.0.1,
    Object Name: unknown
    (Client Interface)

    apache errorlog tells me this
    [warn] IPP Operation error=1, operation=A
    [warn] IPP Operation error=407, operation=B
    [warn] IPP Operation error=502, operation=401C

    Any Clues??
    Please help URGENT!

    Re: iPrint manager crash

We're getting between 12 hours and 3 days out of our newly created print manager, but it still dies eventually no matter which node I start it from.

TID 3245149 addresses this, but doesn't have a fix. The only workaround listed is restarting Apache or the print manager service. I'm having a hard time explaining why this is happening, or where a permanent fix will come from (if any is available).

Does anyone else have any ideas? I'm current on patches and have been running iprint server 5.1.20061109-3 since day 1. Checking the manager from home (our printers need to run from 7:30AM to 11:00PM) after I leave work is what I'm starting to resort to.

Any help would be much appreciated =)

Hi, I just installed patch-11667 (which worked fine on another server)
and now Ipsmd is not starting.
I start It by rcipsmd start and then the log says:

Sep 21 15:16:21 FATAL Error (506D000C) occurred while initializing the
    Managed
    Object database.
Sep 21 15:16:22 INFO The iPrint Manager has unloaded successfully.

    Re: iPrint manager crash

I have just encountered the problem with the same results. Fortunately,
Novell came out with a patch that I installed via Linux Patch Manager.
The iPrint patch is Open Enterprise Server Patch 11856, released
10/16/07, and it resolved my Print Manager's inability to start.

    Good Luck with yours.
