Hi All, I'm in the process of configuring an SLPDA infrastructure in a
distributed environment. My plan is to create Directory Agents at each
site with their own unique scope and point all workstations and servers to
their local SLPDA. Currently things are set up in the default
configuration with all User Agents broadcasting and all local Service
Agents responding.

Anyway, I have a couple of concerns with the new setup.

First of all, is there a way to synchronize the scopes somehow? My plan
will have local DAs and scopes at each location and I'm concerned that
service discovery for remote services may be required at some sites.

Secondly, what is the best method to handle redundancy? Novell recommends
having only one SLPDA per scope which means if the scopes are not
synchronized somehow and the local DA goes down, then clients in the subnet
will be unable to locate resources. Will the clients and servers fall back
to use broadcasts for service discovery in these situations?

Thanks in advance!!!
